Both platforms let you add the TraceLead tag, so the dashboard counts sessions by channel after consent. Neither lets a script on the page fill their own form blocks reliably, so these are guides, not tested integrations: the way to get the attribution into a lead is to use a form that renders on your page or one that takes values in its URL.
Status: guide. No automated test covers these platforms; see the integrations ledger.
Adding the snippet
- Wix: Settings → Custom code → Add custom code, paste the TraceLead tag and your consent call from Installing the snippet, apply it to all pages and place it in the Head. Custom code needs a paid plan with a connected domain.
- Squarespace: Settings → Advanced → Code injection → Header, paste the same code. Code injection is not on every Squarespace plan; check that yours includes it.
Add the published domain to your site's allowed domains in TraceLead.
Wix forms
Wix Forms render as Wix components, not as plain inputs your page code can fill, and Velo page code runs apart from the page's scripts, so it cannot call tracelead(). What works:
- An enquiry page on a subdomain of the same domain (for example
go.example.com), built with a tool whose forms render on the page (Webflow, Unbounce, Leadpages, WordPress or plain HTML), with the TraceLead tag andtl_*hidden fields. The tag in the Wix site's Custom code records the first touch in a cookie on your registrable domain, which is shared with subdomains when the browser allows, so the subdomain form is filled with the visit that first reached the Wix site. Add the domain with Also allow subdomains ticked, and check it with a test entry.
What does not work: a form in an Embed code element (an embedded Typeform, Jotform or HubSpot form, or your own HTML). Wix runs Embed code in an iframe on its own domain, which never sees the address the visitor landed on and is not one of your allowed domains, so the snippet inside it has no first touch to hand over.
Squarespace forms
The Squarespace form block's hidden fields take their values from the page address only (a URL parameter named SQF_ plus the field name in capitals), not from a script, so a first touch recorded on an earlier visit cannot reach them. What works:
- An embedded form (Typeform, Jotform, Google Forms, HubSpot) in a Code block, following the embedded forms guide or HubSpot forms.
- A plain HTML form in a Code block that posts to your CRM or form backend, with hidden
tl_*inputs; it renders on your page, so the snippet fills it as on any site.
Why these are guides
We call an integration supported only once a browser test proves it on every release. Neither platform's own form block can be filled from page code today, so we will not claim support for them; the paths above use builders that are tested.
